Available since March 2012, but 3OO models only.

Saturday, March 10th, I went to Peugeot dealer next to my house to try the 3008 Hybrid4. Only ten years after the Toyota Prius, Peugeot gives new life to hybrid technology combining for the first time diesel and electricity. A French innovation that is expected in 2006 with the duo of prototypes 307 and C4 HDi hybrid. Peugeot has not sought to differentiate its 3008 Hybrid4 with a specific design. It receives only as a distinctive radiator grid with two chrome strips, rear spoiler and very discreet badges HY at the bottom of the mirrors, on the tailgate and trunk. Therefore, the 3008 HY4 offers a special driving experience. It takes some getting used to hearing nothing by turning the ignition key in the barrel and started quietly under the impulse of electric power. In practice, the diesel engine operates in a very discreet, do not generate any vibration or a sudden start.

The excellent work of isolation and the Stop & Start system enables both high-voltage motors to “talk” perfectly together and eventually offer a flexible and intuitive driving. Nothing to say: Peugeot took the time to care for his copy, and it shows! But if the primary purpose of this hybrid is to consume and pollute less. Because to really take part Hybrid4 system, the driver must constantly focus on eco-driving, anticipation and use engine braking to optimize battery charging.
This often requires having eyes on the multifunction screen, which displays the pattern of transmission and indicates the battery status or the calibration of your consumption over the last 30 minutes. In fact, it is especially in the city Hybrid4 makes all the difference. The electric mode often taking over, then it is possible to go down to 5 l/100 km. For once the values of consolidated urban prove inferior to others through the fairy power. What makes this version a 3008 hybrid car predisposed to the city.
